Can anyone answer these questions Stat? I have trouble with these two?.
5. A sample of 40 observations is selected from a population a little normal. The sample mean is 102 and standard deviation is 5. A sample of 50 observations is selected from a second source. The sample mean was 99 and standard deviation was 6. Perform a test of the hypothesis using the level 04 of the matter. 6. The Rocky Mountain District Sales Manager JCM, Inc., a company book College Publishing, says that each representative its turnover makes 40 calls per week teachers. Several reps have said that estimate is too low. Looking on the application, a sample random 28 reps revealed that the average number of calls made last week was 42. The standard deviation of the sample was calculated to 21 calls. At the .05 level of significance, can we conclude that more than 40 calls were made on average in a week?
5. Everything First, you need a hypothesis. Your assumption would be something to the effect of Ho averages are equal Ha means are not equal. Then you find the critical level for your test statistic, this is your alpha = .04 Finally, you calculate the test statistic and compare it to the critical level. You can think of this audit to see if your test statistics is also along the normal curve that your critical level. If so, you can reject Ho , 04 meaning. Note: you NEVER accept Ha, you reject Ho only 6. For one, your hypothesis Ho is an average of 40 ha, the average is less than 40, your procedure is as before. Writing the relevant formulas would not do well here, but I can find them for you with further explanation … http://davidmlane.com/hyperstat/logic_hypothesis.html http://wise.cgu.edu/hypothesis/ http://wise.cgu.edu/hypothesis/ To find tutorial1.html http://simon.cs.vt.edu/SoSci/Site/T-Dist/ tutorials on any how about just put (subject) tutorial in the browser. I found these by searching on tutorial of hypothesis testing
