The best places to start a blog?

Yesterday, during a conversation with my father and his elder brother, they told me suggested starting a blog for my writing.I 've searched in self publishing and writing film / TV scripts. Can anyone recommend a good blog sites for this? I mean besides Twitter and Facebook have both got on the nerves of recent events (long story) so I will not join myspace because I am not allowed on the site or have any interest.

Livejournal.com is a great site Web. Create your own newspaper, and you can join lots of different communities, especially for writers, if you wish, and any other interest you.
