What should I do if I feel someone is stealing my literary works? Hat would you ask?

Ive been writing poetry since 2005, and I have a collection of things that I intend to publish any or turn into songs. I wrote a poem a boy I went out. And it is also an artist in the music industry. I have not received copyrighting anything but im afraid to try to claim my work. I gave him a copy of the poem as a gift. But others have read my books and I even posted some on this site poetry. Should I be so paranoid about this?

But just to be safe, you save your work. Simply present an application for copyright for your work online through the Office of Copyright.
