Please Help me! I need help with Photoshop 7!?

I want a book to help me with Photoshop 7 for retouching portraits, but I went to the library of my university and there are numerous books, including Photoshop Elements 2.0 Photoshop Elements 3.0 Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 Photoshop Elements 5.0 Photoshop Elements 6.0 I have also seen a book called Photoshop Elements for Digital Photographers 2003 (Scoth Kelby) then the same book published in 2005. that could help me edit my photos, I have given photoshop 7 in my PC? Thank you so much if please sugest me which to buy another program, I want a book to help me with what I got. I have photoshop 7 dummies but I find it very useful. This is the third i got answer for this question! What GIMP yet another program of confusion where it is impossible to find a book to help me use it?
